Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time, 3-Month Contract
Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate (Reach Truck Operator) is responsible for a variety of warehouse functions including shipping, receiving, putaway, replenishment, inventory control, consolidation, count checks, and loading and unloading trucks. This role requires safe and efficient operation of a reach truck and other powered industrial equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reach Truck Operation
- Operate a reach truck to put away received shipments into designated home, overflow, or bulk storage locations.
- Transport products from receiving and staging areas to warehouse storage locations.
- Move palletized goods safely throughout the warehouse facility.
- Follow all equipment operating procedures and safety requirements.
- Shipping & Receiving
- Unload inbound shipments and transport products to receiving and staging areas.
- Inspect, count, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Identify and document shortages, overages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Ensure all required shipping and receiving documentation is completed accurately.
- Obtain all necessary signatures on driver paperwork before release.
- Wrap pallets by machine or hand to ensure product stability and safe storage.
Inventory Management
- Perform replenishment activities by transferring products from storage to primary pick locations.
- Consolidate inventory to maximize warehouse space utilization.
- Conduct count checks and inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Support item demand and stock replenishment processes.
Order Picking & Shipping
- Receive products using the appropriate purchase order information.
- Complete discrepancy reports for damaged, missing, or excess inventory.
- Break down and organize products by item number.
- Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Build and stack pallets for outbound shipments.
- Verify staged pallets for accuracy and shipping readiness.
- Adjust pallet quantities to ensure even weight distribution and secure transportation.
Warehouse Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain clean work areas, dock spaces, and warehouse aisles.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
- Participate in ongoing safety and housekeeping initiatives.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of reach truck operating experience required.
- Valid Reach Truck Certification required.
- Experience operating powered industrial trucks, including stand-up reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as HighJump or PeopleSoft, is an asset.
- Experience using RF scanners or voice-directed picking systems is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required.
